BaliMotion advertises from 80,000 IDR a day, below anything here. On a short rental that headline holds. Over a month it reverses, and the reason is what sits around the price rather than the price itself.

The difference that matters

Cheaper by the day, dearer by the month

Take a full month. At 80,000 a day that is 2,240,000 IDR, plus 500,000 for the damage option, so about 2,740,000. The same month on a Budget scooter here runs at the monthly rate of 65,000 a day, so 1,820,000, with protection optional on top at 50,000 a day. The headline is genuinely lower on their side; the monthly total is not. If you are staying a week, compare the daily rates. If you are staying a month, compare the monthly ones — and check whether delivery to your area is one of the free ones.

On the licence point: not requiring category A or an international permit is a rental policy, not the law. Indonesian police can ask for an international permit carrying the A category, and riding without one is the kind of detail a travel insurer looks for after an accident. That applies whoever you rent from.

Where they are just as good

A comparison that only ever favours one side is worth nothing. These are the points where there is no real gap.

Their daily rate really is lower, and for a two or three day rental that is the number that matters.

Neither operator takes a deposit or holds a passport.

Their fleet is recent, 2023 to 2026.

The delivery contradiction may simply be an out-of-date page rather than a practice. Ask them to confirm for your area before booking.
